As Principal of Loreto College Coleraine, I sincerely welcome you to our website. This website provides a snapshot of a Loreto education; what we do every day to support our students to “have the courage to be the best that they can be”.

Founded in 1930 by the IBVM sisters, a Loreto education is underpinned by gospel values and Mary Ward’s vision for the education of young people. This vision sees an emphasis on high standards, the pursuit of personal excellence, and an holistic approach to education. It is summed up in the five core values of Freedom, Justice, Sincerity, Truth, and Joy.

Loreto College Coleraine offers a diverse and challenging curriculum enhanced with a multitude of extra-curricular sporting, cultural and social justice activities. Our students are empowered to be informed and confident young people of faith and courage in a culture that inspires educational and personal excellence.

Our teachers are dedicated professionals, experts in their subject areas, committed to ensuring that each student gives of their best, in a warm, supportive environment. We expect high standards of our students in both their approach to work and in their behaviour.

Mary Ward encouraged us to “Do good and do it well” and this is promoted daily in Loreto. Each student is recognised and celebrated for their unique talents and gifts.

By exploring our web site you will witness our students excelling in the classroom, on the sports field, in the music hall and on the stage but more satisfyingly you will witness happy students enjoying their time at Loreto. You will discover the joy experienced by our students in learning and in leadership. You will see how our students actively portray the Loreto principles and become “seekers of Truth and doers of Justice”.

Firmly grounded by our rich past, we are focused on directing the future by providing an outstanding education for your son/daughter.

As a values-based school under the Loreto tradition we are developing young people who will not only have the capability to make a difference to their world, but they will do this from an ethical and moral framework becoming true agents of social change.

There truly can be no better foundation to educate young people.
