From time to time, we all need a bit of support or talk to someone other than our friends or relatives. Form Teachers are always available if you are struggling or facing  a challenge in your life. If you would like to speak to someone who isn’t one of your teachers, our school offers a professional and discrete counselling service to all pupils. The counsellor is provided by Family Works and is not a member of staff at the school.

Any pupil can request to see the counsellor. Requests are usually made via the Form Teacher or the Head of Year. Students can self-refer to counselling if they wish. There is a box based in the Pastoral Support Centre, if they wish to self-refer.

Parents can also request counselling for their son or daughter but pupils can only be referred with the consent or agreement of the pupil.

The counselling service is available every Thursday in the Pastoral Centre. In addition to scheduled appointments, the counsellor is available for ‘drop-in’ sessions during both breaks on Thursday morning.

If you would like to speak to a counsellor outside term time, please click below for more information.
