As part of the Church’s Jubilee Celebration, Pope Francis proclaimed the theme for 2025 ‘Pilgrims of Hope’.
On 1st May Loreto schools throughout Ireland came together in Knock Shrine as part of a National pilgrimage.
It was a most special and historic occasion and a great opportunity for our students to, firstly meet up with our sister school in NI, Loreto, Omagh, and then to join and meet fellow Loreto students from 18 other schools across the country.
Sr. Rosemary accompanied us on our journey and spoke to pupils about her religious life and vocations. “ Cherish God’s vocation in you. Let it be constant, efficacious and loving.” Mary Ward, on her death-bed, 1645
We participated in a beautiful mass in the Basilica celebrated by Bishop Paul Dempsey.
Brenda Mullan was the candle bearer for Loreto College, Coleraine.
Dubhla Mullan played harp solos at the mass.
Max McGrotty and Eoin Roddy presented the communal Loreto school crest, handmade by Tierna Smith, as part of the symbols ceremony.
Conor McHenry was the entertainment manager on our journey.
All of the sixth years led by example throughout the day assisting Mrs Niblock, Mrs Mullan and Mr Gallagher on every step of the way.
A truly memorable Loreto day, full of prayer, reflection, fun, games, music and camaraderie.
