LORETO COLLEGE CELEBRATES CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK.
At the end of January, we celebrated Catholic Schools Week, which takes place from Sunday 29th January to Sunday 4th February 2023.
The theme for this year is ‘Walking Together in Faith & Love’.
Our foundress, Mary Ward said, “Cherish God’s vocation in you.” St. (Pope) John Paul II said, “Catholic education is above all a question of communicating Christ, of helping to form Christ in the lives of others.”
Each of us is on a journey in life. For Catholics, this journey begins and ends with God. Our vocation is to reflect the love and example of Christ to everyone we meet. Each moment on that journey is a chance to encounter God, to come to know and love God, who has been revealed to us in Jesus Christ.
We can feel God’s presence when we pray, when we spend time with loved ones, in nature, in moments of joy and when we come together as a community to celebrate God’s love at Mass. We can feel God’s presence when we learn and grow together. As we walk along our journey, God is with us every step of the way.
Our school community seeks to help students and staff along their journey, nurturing their gifts and talents. Each one of us is made in God’s own image and likeness. Each one of us has great capacity to love and be loved, and immense potential to make society a kinder and more just place for all.
During Catholic Schools Week, we celebrated the unique contribution our wonderful school makes to the lives of our pupils, our community and our many parishes. Please enjoy a selection of photographs of some of the things we have been doing together during a very special week.
