Finn Lestas with his Certificate of Completion of the Belfast Marathon Fun Run
22/05/2012 LORETO COLLEGE STUDENT RAISES FUN-RUN FUNDS
A student from Loreto College Coleraine has raised funds for the Loreto school in Sudan through participating in the Fun Run section of the Belfast Marathon.
Finn Lestas, who is in Year 8 at Loreto College, completed the 5km Fun Run course on Marathon Day. He collected sponsorship money, and was also supported by his form class and his form teacher Mrs Mabel McAleese, who held a bun sale in school to raise additional money. In total Finn raised an impressive £276 for Loreto College’s sister school in Sudan.
Mrs Lorraine McCool, Social Justice Co-ordinator at Loreto College, praised Finn for his initiative and generosity in support of others following this tremendous effort. Finn was presented with a certificate at Junior Assembly by Mr Michael James, College Principal, in recognition of his strong individual contribution to the year’s fund-raising in support of the Loreto School in Sudan.
