05/03/2012 TYRONE LEGEND INSPIRES LORETO COLLEGE STUDENTS

Loreto College Coleraine played host to renowned Tyrone Gaelic manager Mickey Harte on Monday 5th March 2012.  As part of the College’s Group RE sixth form enrichment programme, the three-time All Ireland winning manager visited the College to talk to final year students about motivation and determination.

In an inspiring talk, Mickey Harte talked about his own successes as well as the personal challenges he has faced, and spurred students on to motivate themselves to achieve in their studies and in all areas of their lives.  The capacity audience of Year 14 students, along with the members of the Religious Education department, were enthralled and inspired by the talk, and delighted to have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session afterwards.  Many students were also delighted to avail of the opportunity to ask the legendary manager for an autograph, while some of the sporting enthusiasts among the group were able to avail of some individual advice.

Religious Education teacher Mr Kevin Conroy thanked Mr Harte for his immeasurable contribution to the enrichment programme on behalf of College Principal Mr Michael James, Head of Religious Education Mrs Siobhan McCarry and all the staff and students present.
