Qualifiers for the Ulster Schools' Cross Country Finals, with teacher/coach Mr P. Cunning
14/02/2012 LORETO COLLEGE ATHLETES THROUGH TO ULSTER CROSS-COUNTRY FINALS

A number of talented runners from Loreto College Coleraine have won through to the Ulster Schools’ Cross Country finals, which will take place on 22nd February at the Belfast Playing Fields, Mallusk.

Six athletes qualified on an individual basis, and the Minor Boys’ team (Year 8 students) finished in third place, qualifying for the team event.

The students who will represent Loreto College in the individual competition are: Natalie Costello (Year 14, Senior Girls’ event), Darryl Wills (Year 14, Senior Boys’ event), Aoife Carr (Year 9, Minor Girls’ event), Daniel O’Kane (Year 9, Minor Boys’ event), Abigail McBroom (Year 8, Mini Girls’ event), and Mollie Brennan (Year 8, Mini Girls’ event). The members of the Year 8 boys’ team who will also represent the College are: Oisin Brennan, Sean McKeever, Krzysztof Silakowski, Glen O’Donovan, Eamon McLaughlin, Adam Kerr, Aidan McGonigle and Dominic Bradley.

Mr Paul Cunning, Cross Country Coach at Loreto College, paid tribute to the students who have qualified and also to the Year 8 girls’ team members, who just missed the opportunity to run in the Ulster Finals.
