15/12/2011 ARCHERY SUCCESS FOR LORETO COLLEGE STUDENTS

Students from Loreto College Coleraine took part in the Inter-School Archery competition to be held in Northern Ireland, just before the Christmas holidays. The event was held on 14th December at The Range, Ballymoney, home of the Causeway Company of Archers.

Loreto College was represented at the event by Aodhan McIlvenny, Daniel Brown, Ciara Dinsmore, Evan Wall, Niall Browne, Cormac Quigley, Victoria Bell, Oliver Ferris and Eunan Brown – all of whom had been selected for their sharp shooting!

The Loreto A team, of Daniel Brown, Aodhan McIlvenny and Eunan Brown, came a close and commendable third on the day. Loreto Team B (Evan Wall, Ciara Dinsmore and Victoria Bell) were placed fourth, with Loreto Team C (Cormac Quigley, Niall Browne and Oliver Ferris) placed fifth. The competition brought to a climax coaching classes that have taken place in many schools in the area over the last term through Awards for ALL funding.

Mrs Maureen McCullough, Head of PE at Loreto College, paid tribute to Chris McFadyan for organising the event and coaching many of the students as part of their GCSE PE course, and to Mr Paul Byrne, PE Teacher, who accompanied the students to the event.
