25/04/2007 MATHEMATICAL SUCCESS FOR LORETO STUDENTS
A team of Year 12 students from Loreto College Coleraine has achieved an impressive success at regional level in the annual Mathématiques Sans Frontieres competition.
Team-members Anna Maguire, Kevin McLaughlin, Malo Scullion and Charles Stuart won through to the NEELB Final of the event following intensive competition throughout all schools in the area. This stage of the competition involved all Year 12 Additional Mathematics students, along with some AS Level mathematicians, who answered a range of testing questions expressed in a variety of modern European Languages.
In the area final, Anna, Kevin, Malo and Charles finished in Runner-up spot, having worked on a variety of challenging puzzles. The students and their teacher, Mrs Janette Morrow, were congratulated on this impressive achievement by Mrs Anne O’Kane, Head of Mathematics, and Mr Brian Lenehan, Principal of Loreto College.
